Show Description

"Adventure Inc.," the exciting, new weekly first-run action hour from Tribune Entertainment and Fireworks Entertainment, launches in national syndication the week of September 30.

"Adventure Inc." details the exploits of legendary explorer Judson Cross (Michael Biehn) and his crew, Mackenzie Previn (Karen Cliche [pronounced Kleesh]) and Gabriel Patterson (Jesse Nilsson). They search for the lost, the unknown and the unimaginable.

Cross' reputation as "the man who can find anything" has spread from bureaucrats to billionaires, resulting in opportunities, danger and excitement. Puzzles from history beg to be solved, present-day mysteries need to be unraveled, and villains have to be brought to justice.

Cross is a charming, ruggedly handsome, streetwise adventurer. An incredible string of discoveries including The Lost Dutchman Mine in Arizona, Amelia Earhart's plane, a Nazi art trove in a Bavarian cave and many others, have made him into an internationally renowned figure. His priceless finds have often enriched investors and museums worldwide, securing a continual procession of job opportunities. But for Cross - it's about the thrill of the chase, not the trophy on the wall.

Mackenzie Previn is a strikingly beautiful young woman with an unexplained past. Although she insists she is an "independent contractor" and her motivation is personal profit, Mackenzie has become the only person Cross trusts with his life. No matter what adventure or intrigue Cross involves them in, she can handle it.

Gabriel Patterson is the young scion of one of America's richest and most influential families. They are determined to drive him into the same narrow career path as his brothers, father and grandfather, and he is desperate to escape the life his family expects from him. Gabe jumps at the chance to crew for Cross.

The Vast Explorer, Cross' expedition yacht, serves as the operation's official headquarters in the fictional seaside town of Beau Harbor, North Carolina. Cross grew up in Cape Cod but spent his childhood summers with his eccentric uncle in Beau Harbor. The old Coast Guard ice-breaking tug has been salvaged, refurbished and equipped with a laboratory, diving center, submersible dock and engines powerful enough for a vessel twice her size.

"Adventure, Inc." is inspired by the real-life exploits of adventurer Barry Clifford. Clifford has been fascinated by pirates his whole life, wondering if he could find some of the loot rumored to be scattered up and down the New England coast where he grew up. In 1984, he did just that - discovering the sunken remains of the pirate ship Whydah off the coast of Cape Cod. In more than 16 years of meticulous salvage, Clifford and his crew have recovered more than 200,000 artifacts from the site. Rather than selling the treasure, he has set up a private conservation lab and a museum open to the public.

He has since led expeditions to Madacasgar to find Captain Kidd's sunken boat, the Adventure, and found a lost fleet off the coast of Venezuela. He's also been involved in finding hidden tombs in Egypt's Valley of the Kings.

Clifford has told about his adventures in several books, including Expedition Whydah, The Pirate Prince, The Black Ship and his most recent book, just out this summer - The Lost Fleet.
