Jesse Nilsson DiesFrom the Official Adventure Inc site Adventure Inc. cast member Jesse Nilsson died of heart failure on Saturday, April 25, 2003, at his parents' home in North York, Canada. A lifetime asthmatic, he had been suffering from pneumonia for the two weeks prior to his death but was on the road to recovery. "He had been diagnosed with pneumonia a few weeks ago and was supposed to take it easy, and he was taking it easy and starting to feel a little better. We were all happy because we thought he was going to be OK and was getting better," said Nilsson's brother, Cameron Fraser. Nilsson, 25, starred as Gabriel Patterson on Adventure Inc., the Fireworks Entertainment/Tribune Entertainment produced action hour. In the show, the son of a Senator, Patterson left the affluent world of politics to embark on a career working as a member of Judson Cross' (Michael Biehn) team, Adventure Inc., who travels all over the world in search of treasures and solving mysteries. Co-executive producer Adam Haight said they chose Mr. Nilsson for the role because of his looks and youth."The show is based on the true life exploits of an explorer named Barry Clifford. John Candy Jr. [should read: John F. Kennedy Jr] actually crewed with him on some of his explorations for a number of summers. We were looking for a character that was 20-something [to go along with Mr. Biehn, who was playing the Clifford-esque role], so it was taken a little bit kind of consciously from that interesting fact [of Mr. Candy Jr.'s involvement]," Mr. Haight said."We looked at a number of guys and we cast Jesse in the last throes before production began. There was something very handsome and very youthful about him, so we jumped on him. Jesse just seemed to fit that role kind of well." Mr. Nilsson is survived by his mother, father, sister, and brother. He will be remembered in a service on Thursday, May 1, 2003, at the Jerrett Funeral Chapel in Toronto. © 2002 Tribune Media Services | |
